Anchored Performance — Micro-Actions in Motion
Two Ideas • Two Voices • Two Questions
Two Ideas
Idea 1: You can be working hard and still be drifting.
Drift isn’t laziness. Drift is unanchored effort that often isn’t attached to a clear win. That’s why I can feel exhausted and still feel “behind.”
Idea 2: Anchor the day with one sentence (then hold to it).
Write: “What is one meaningful thing I can accomplish before 10 AM? ______.”
Then choose one small guardrail that helps me hold to it, like: “Before I check messages, I will ______.”
A morning with one clear win creates a calmer mind and cleaner decisions.
Two Voices
Voice 1: “The essence of strategy is choosing what not to do.” — Michael Porter
Voice 2: “There is nothing so useless as doing efficiently that which should not be done at all.” — Peter Drucker
Two Questions
What am I doing a lot of… that isn’t connected to my goals?
What’s one sentence that would make today feel clear?
